Expansions
The right side PCB has a 5-pin expansion port that lets you add your own hardware to a Robomate.
Expansion Port
The connector is a S5B-ZR-SM4A-TF(LF)(SN) — a compact 5-pin JST ZR header soldered to the right motor PCB.
| Pin | Signal | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | SDA | I2C data — Line A on the Main board |
| 2 | SCL | I2C clock — Line A on the Main board |
| 3 | GND | Ground |
| 4 | 3.3V | 3.3 V regulated supply |
| 5 | 9V | 9 V boosted supply |
SDA and SCL are shared with I2C bus A on the main board, so any I2C peripheral you attach will appear alongside the existing on-board sensors. See the Schematics — I2C Bus page for the full bus layout and pin mapping.
The boost converter on the right side PCB delivers a 9 V supply on pin 5.
Examples
FPV Camera
An analog FPV camera and video transmitter can be powered directly from the expansion port. The camera mounts on top of the robot and broadcasts a live first-person view to FPV goggles or a ground station.
